Division Chair of Child Adolescent Psychiatry

The VCU Division of Child Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a BC Child Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as Chair of the Division and Medical Director of the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC). This opportunity comes with broad responsibilities including the senior, clinical and research leadership of a large full time faculty of Psychiatrists and Psychologists.


Responsibilities:


- Teaching (14%)- Develops and administers comprehensive internal training programs for Medical Students,
Residents and Fellows as well as other medical personnel
- Ensure quality and compliance standards
- Consults with the education liaisons for the Department of Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Pediatrics and
Pharmacy to strengthen in integration with these disciplines and develop innovative curriculum and initiatives
- Research (7%) -Initiates research that informs Child Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Treatment
- Provide medical leadership and expertise in the areas of clinical research
- Participate in publications and serve on review committees
- Clinical (18%) -Serves as Chief of Medical and Clinical Services
- Responsible for clinical coverage/performance of all inpatient and outpatient programs of the VTCC
- Oversees clinical documentation, care planning and clinical policies
- Develops, implements and oversees peer reviews and clinical trials
- Supervises and coordinates all medical and clinical staff for both in and outpatient services
- Handles physician/provider impairment issues
- Administration (61%) -Will be the Chair of the Division and Medical Director of the VTCC


Qualifications:


- Board Certified in Child Adolescent Psychiatry
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in medical academic affairs
- Demonstrated research and publication activities
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within an academic healthcare facility preferred
- Teaching experience
- Leadership experience in clinical/program administration and development
