Pediatric Gastroenterologist
Interested in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) is seeking a full-time, BC/BE pediatric gastroenterologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.


Candidates should be eager to be a part of a major dynamic effort to build an academic pediatric IBD center. Resources are available to assist in establishing a comprehensive pediatric IBD team including availability of nursing, nutrition, and psychology support. Funding is also available to allow participation in national pediatric IBD registries such as Improved Care Now. The successful candidate will participate along with the peds GI division chief and adult GI IBD medical director in a growing a multidisciplinary clinical IBD program for children.


Responsibilities

Teaching


- Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of pediatric gastroenterology.
- Faculty will provide guidance and mentorship to Residents, Chief Residents, and Fellows when applicable.


Research


- Faculty member will have interest in securing revenue through grants and contracts.


Service


- Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as
professional through journal review, conference presentations, etc.


Clinical


- Faculty member will serve as a general Pediatric Gastroenterologist for the Department of Pediatrics.


Qualifications
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
- Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
- Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others
- Interest and experience in working with patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
