This position is in Substance Abuse and Recovery (STAR) and Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM), programs of Mental Health Services at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System which is affiliated with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

This staff addiction psychiatrist has clinical responsibilities for outpatient management to eligible Veterans with a continuum of care of substance abuse services. STAR offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team consisting of other psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and psychiatric nurses and psychosocial treatment to Veterans with active substance use disorders.

The Substance Abuse and Recovery (STAR) provides:
Intake/assessment
Detoxification/medically-supervised withdrawal/stabilization
Treatment/discharge planning
Contract bed placement
Intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment
Sobriety maintenance
Methadone and Suboxone clinic
Aftercare outpatient treatment

Medication management
Psychotherapy
Case management
Support
Rehabilitation
24/7 On-Call crisis management and supportive contact
