UNC Health Care in High Point, NC is seeking a full-time Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist Physician to join their well-established team of four physicians.

UNC High Point Regional Hospital is affiliated with the University of North Carolina Health System and is the major health care system in High Point, NC, which includes a network of 130 physicians. High Point Regional consists of 351 beds, a closed 32 bed ICU with Electronic ICU at night, has a 24 hour Cath Lab, Cancer Center. UNC High Point Regional is a patient and physician focused organization.

Practice History:
The practice began with one oncologist 30 years ago and grew to five medical oncologists ranging in seniority from 6-26 years in this practice. Until May 2016, the group was private and practiced as part of another independent organization in town. On May 14, 2016 physicians signed with Regional Physicians as part of a plan to convert the High Point Regional Cancer Center/program to a service of UNC Hospitals. Physicians in the group are employed by Regional Physicians, however each oncologist has a faculty appointment with UNC and practices under the auspices of UNC Hospitals at the Hayworth Cancer Center.

Additional Details
Board certification in Hematology and Oncology
Preference for broad experience in all diagnostic groups within hematology/oncology Special interest in breast cancer is preferred but not required
Routine Procedures Required- diagnosis, treatment planning, symptom management, chemotherapy supervision, bone marrow aspiration, palliative care, end of life care, survivorship care planning
Ideal candidates will categorize themselves as a "generalist" rather than focusing on a subspecialty, however experience with breast, lung and GU is a plus
Office Hours- 8:30 am to 5 pm
Call Requirement- Weekday rotation among 5 providers from 5 pm to 8 am, weekend rotation among 5 providers from 12:30 pm Friday afternoon to 8 am Monday
Census- average inpatient census is 10-15
Volume- average clinic patient volume per day is 65 for the office (60 minute new patient appointment slots given, 30 minute return patient slots given)
