CHI Franciscan Health in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a highly skilled, dynamic and personable Neurosurgeon to join our practice in the Franciscan Medical Group. Join a group of 4 highly respected neurosurgeons in an ideal practice setting in Tacoma, Washington, a mid-sized city in a beautiful location, with easy access to sports, recreation, nature and cosmopolitan culture.

The ideal candidate is a board certified or board eligible neurosurgeon with general neurosurgery skills and with sub-specialty training in spine.

St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center provides state of the art facilities including Stryker Navigation, Medtronic Stealth, Leksell Gamma Knife and two Neuro ICU units. The medical community has excellent physicians including outstanding anesthesiologists, critical care physicians, neurologists, ER physicians and PM&R specialists. There is superb radiology support including several neuroradiologists and two highly skilled interventional neuroradiologists who treat complex neurovascular conditions. A comprehensive trauma team admits and cares for trauma patients with neurosurgical consultation. We have a close working relationship with the orthopedic spine surgeons in our community. We do not treat children, as they are cared for at a pediatric hospital outside of our system.

Franciscan Medical Group is home to over 650 physicians and professional providers representing a unique network of primary care and specialties. It has a dynamic Neurology Department that includes 10 neurologists with areas of special expertise including movement disorder and neuromuscular disease. There are several ENT surgeons including one neuro-otologist.

Franciscan Neurosurgery Associates in Tacoma is comprised of 4 board certified neurosurgeons who practice general neurosurgery, but have areas of special expertise, including neuro-oncology, complex spine and minimally invasive spine. It employs 3 PAs and one ARNP. Its practice is based at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center, which serves as the tertiary referral hospital for 6 hospitals in the immediate region.
