Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center is a state verified Level II Trauma Center located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and part of the Geisinger Health System which has additional trauma centers in Scranton and Danville.

In addition to providing coverage of the trauma service and surgical critical care, there is an active emergency general surgery service, with dedicated OR time. The trauma program is supported by a surgical residency program, with four residents per year.
There are four Physicians Assistants assisting with the careof the patients in both the inpatient setting, and in the trauma/emergency general surgery clinic.
There is also the opportunity to conduct clinical research.
