LVHN is seeking a full time physician assistant to join a premier group practice comprising 12 surgeons, 1 physiatrist, 1 podiatrist, 2 non-operative/sports medicine physicians and 15 advanced practice clinicians. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a collegial, patient-focused group with a rich history of providing great care to the community through two primary and two satellite office locations. This busy, well-run practice is supported by Lehigh Valley Physician Group, an employed multispecialty physician group with nearly 1400 providers.
The duties and responsibilities of the physician assistant will include, but not be limited to:
Perform direct patient care in a positive and professional manner under the supervision of orthopedic surgeons.
Working as the first assist in surgery. Providing preoperative and postoperative education to patient and family members.
Take and review medical histories to assess the patients needs.
Examine and treat orthopedic patients.
Order and interpret tests as needed to diagnose further treatment.
Treat injuries; assist in the emergency room as needed for ortho related cases.
Educate and counsel patients and family as to current situation, developing and implementing a treatment plan.
Participate in the call schedule.
