The hematology/oncology team collaborates with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and psychologists to develop a plan tailored to the individual patient to achieve the best possible outcome. Geisingers oncology research programs are anchored by the NCI Community Oncology Research Program cooperative agreement and the national commitment to cancer research in community settings. Geisinger has membership affiliations with Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, Childrens Oncology Group, EGOG-ACRIN, NRG Oncology, University of Rochester Cancer Center and Wake Forest. Palliative medicine services are also offered at each campus. Working with Geisingers Department of Oncology Innovation and Analytics, physicians have the opportunity to participate in the development of unique models of care, clinical tools and other research projects. Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) Scranton, PA

GCMC is seeking physicians who are dually certified in hematology and oncology to join Geisingers newest cancer care site. The facility opened in October 2016 and is located within GCMC. Physicians may participate in the development of unique models of care, clinical tools and other research projects. The team at GCMC is supported by advanced practitioners, nurse navigators and an infusion room staffed by oncology-certified nurses.
