Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC is seeking a Neonatologist. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team with an excellent culture!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide professional medical services to newborns presenting with problems resulting from premature birth or problems such as respiratory failure, congenital abnormalities, and sepsis
Exercise independent professional judgement in the care and treatment of newborns
Order and prescribe medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and other health and medical services
Prescribe medically appropriate pharmaceuticals
Consult and counsel patients and caregivers
Provide health and medical education to patients and caregivers
Refer patients as needed to the appropriate medical specialists to ensure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided
Maintain compliance with established documentation standards with timely completion of medical records
Assign the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third party insurance billing
Supervises other medical professionals
Adhere to the principles of medical ethics
May report to a medical director

Job Qualifications:
Experience:
Preference for those with 2+ NICU experience as a Neonatologist. Will consider very strong fellows.
Licensure:
Current license or license in progress for NC preferred
Will consider licensing and relocation for the right candidate
