Faculty Physician
Internal Medicine Residency Training Program

Mercy Medical Center North Iowa is currently seeking a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician to join this newly formed Internal Medicine Residency Program.

The Internal Medicine Residency Program is a three-year AOA-accredited program with three residents in each postgraduate level. The Faculty Physician's essential functions are as follows:

The Residency Program Faculty will be responsible for leading the inpatient Internal Medicine Teaching Service
Educates and supervises the program's residents and assists in the development and maintenance of the program's
curriculum and accreditation.
Lectures and facilitates other didactic sessions
Supervises residents' patient care activities and aides in developing and implementing appropriate patient care plans
as well as in performing appropriate procedures
Serves as role model; provides ongoing feedback and completes end of rotation evaluations of residents
Participates in resident interview and selection process
Performs clinical practice in adherence to evidence-based practice and research
Complies with the requirements of the federal and state governments, regulatory agencies and Mercy regarding
mandatory education and continuing medical education
Seeks consultation and advice by providing adequate information to consulting physicians.

Candidates must possess MD or DO medical degree and be board certified in Internal Medicine. A minimum of 3 years' experience in Internal Medicine is strongly preferred with previous faculty experience preferred. Must be able to obtain Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa medical staff privileges. Must be able to maintain participating provider status with Medicare and Medicaid programs and not have been excluded from participation in any federally-funded health care program, including Medicare and Medicaid. Must be able to maintain an unrestricted federal DEA number and Iowa Controlled Substance permits. BLS and ACLS certification no later than three months from date of hire.
