Attending Pediatric Cardiologist MD

Advocate Childrens Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist Physician to join the Advocate Childrens Heart Institute/ Advocate Medical Group - Pediatric Cardiology practice located in the Chicago Metro area of Illinois. We are a group of 22 Pediatric Cardiologists, 3 Pediatric Cardiovascular (CV) surgeons and over 80 support personnel providing Pediatric Cardiologist care at many sites in the Chicago Metro region.

The Advocate Childrens Heart Institute (ACHI) has been a major referral center for prenatal patients, infants, children and adults with congenital heart disease for over 30 years. The Advocate Childrens Heart Institute has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nations leaders in Pediatric Cardiologist and Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery for 4 consecutive years, and is one of the largest Pediatric Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Surgery programs in the region. The ACHI has received the Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS) 3 Star rating for two years in a row, indicating that the surgical outcomes and length of stay rank among the Top 10% in the nation. ACHI is also the first Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab in the nation to receive accreditation by ACE (Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence) for quality and performance outcomes in conjunction with the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI.)

This position will focus on the clinical management of a Pediatric Cardiology population that ranges from mild to very complex. This physicians will work with other established Pediatric Cardiologists and Pediatric CV Surgeons in the area to support significant growth within our organization. Skill in providing general Pediatric Cardiologist care including outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, managing the inpatient general cardiology service and providing telemedicine services is required. Additional skills of particular interest include exercise testing, preventive cardiology and bi-lingual Spanish speaking. Teaching of Pediatric Cardiologist fellows, house staff and medical students is expected. Interest in clinical research will be actively supported. Academic appointment is available.

Requirements:

Must hold an MD degree and be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois
Board Certified (or Board Eligible) in Pediatric Cardiologist is required
Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiologist
One year of advanced Pediatric Cardiologist training preferred
Strong clinical competencies in general cardiology
