The Department of Neurology at West Virginia University School of Medicine is growing and expanding services. The department offers patients a full spectrum of innovative therapies for diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles, including stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases and movement disorders. In addition to these comprehensive clinical initiatives, we have expanded our treatment programs in pediatric neurology, neuro-oncology, and headache. WVU is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and a Level IV Epilepsy Center by the NAEC. With institutional and state support, we are aggressively implementing comprehensive initiatives in stroke care and research to address this significant health disparity in our region.

The Department of Neurology is seeking the following positions:


A Neuroimmunologist to join a comprehensive Academic Multiple Sclerosis Program. The position involves clinical care, research and teaching medical students and neurology residents with emphasis on multiple sclerosis and clinical or laboratory investigation; must have completed additional training or have extensive experience in the treatment of MS patients.

Neurologist with additional training or experience in Movement Disorders. The position involves clinical care, research and teaching medical students and neurology residents; must have completed a movement disorders fellowship or have extensive experience working with movement disorder patients.

Neurologist with training in Neurophysiology (including EMG, EEG, and epilepsy). WVU is certified as a Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center.

Neuro-Oncologist to complement our dynamic program, expand clinical and research activities, and join a team including neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropathologists, and medical and radiation oncologists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research, and education. The WVU Cancer Institute is one of the country's premier cancer treatment centers using the latest cancer therapies, sophisticated technologies, and patient driven research to deliver the best possible treatment in state-of-the-art facilities.

Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.
