West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is recruiting an open rank BC/BE adult addiction-trained psychiatrists to assume a full time faculty position at an outpatient free-standing facility focusing primarily on opioid addiction. The facility/program includes other mental health supports, including therapists and case managers, and is located in Morgantown, WV. We have a number of addiction specialists who have developed innovative and creative ways to address the national opioid addiction crisis. Responsibilities for the non-tenure, clinical emphasis track positions include outpatient care of adults with Substance Use Disorders, teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, and potentially training addiction medicine/psychiatry fellows. There are resources and opportunities to develop research within the area of addictions. We encourage all qualified, well-trained applicants to apply regardless of academic rank expectations.

Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified / eligible in psychiatry.

They will join our Department which provides a broad range of services including inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, assertive community treatment, telepsychiatry and ECT. We also have a busy consult liaison service. In addition to our faculty of psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, psychologists and social workers, we also employ clinical therapists and case managers. We provide training for a variety of disciplines including psychology, neuropsychology, nursing, social work, counseling and medical students. We have 28 general psychiatry residents and have fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.
