The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible general Tele-psychiatrist in the Telehealth department. The Tele-psychiatrist will function as a highly skilled, independent care provider in the management of patients with behavioral health problems; carry a caseload and provide consultation to Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and other clinical programs leveraging telehealth to see patients across the northwest region within the VA Healthcare system. Though the position serves the region, it is based on the Boise VAMC campus.

A duty of this position is clinical supervision and training of medical students and residents associated with the University of Washington (UW), Department Of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and may require the incumbent to maintain a faculty appointment with UW; must effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines within behavioral health and medical/surgical specialties.

This position is for a staff psychiatrist position and not an administrative/leadership position. Direct a growing group of healthcare professionals providing excellent quality care to Americas Heroes and guide the professional and academic development of medical residents. Enjoy active collaboration with hospital and departmental leadership, develop patient care standards and partner with hospital leadership in program development.

Typical work week is 40 hours, Monday-Friday schedule

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: You must be a US citizen and hold an unrestricted medical license from any state, territory or commonwealth of the United States.

Fully integrated state of the art Integrated Electronic Medical Records (EMR) network with centralized patient registration and billing.

Our physicians enjoy a competitive salary that is determined by a Physician Compensation Panel based on Qualifications, Education and Commensurate with Experience.

Physicians earn 26 of paid annual leave (vacation) starting their first year and may accumulate up to 86 days. Also earn 13 days of sick leave each year (unlimited accumulation) and in addition enjoy 10 federal holidays with pay each year.

Paid time off (Authorized Absence) may be available for at least 5 days annually for continuing medical education (CME) training.
