Duties We are seeking an immediate fill for full-time Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physicians to serve at the VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The physicians at this facility report directly to the Chief Medical Officer at the Knoxville Outpatient Clinic. The physicians are charged with providing outpatient-only primary care for eligible Veterans in the area. The required skill-set includes current Primary Care clinical proficiency, willingness and ability to encourage teamwork, the ability to implement new initiatives and maintain high standards of performance. A broad working knowledge and experience with VA policies and procedures is desirable, but not mandatory. VA Primary Care Providers are responsible for coordinating all aspects of the patients' care, making referrals to specialists, ordering procedures, ordering and monitoring all medications plus handling of all their patients' acute needs. Work Schedule: This facility has a unique, compressed Tour of Duty consisting of four days per week, 6:45 am - 5:30 pm. This will include occasional rotations on Saturday, shared amongst all physicians at the clinic. Additionally, the selected physician will be eligible for our education debt reduction program.
