PMC is a 300-bed tertiary care center offering more than 400 services with over 300 physicians on staff and approximately 3,000 employees. This year we are excited to be celebrating our 91st year of service to the community and surrounding area. We are currently members of the Mayo Clinic Care Network; an association that we believe is extremely beneficial to our patients, as well as our physicians. We are proud to offer all specialties and nearly all sub-specialty services.

Pikeville Medical Center recently received our Level II Trauma accreditation, making us the only Level II Trauma center in the state of KY. Last year the hospital received more than 100 air transfers and over 700 ambulance transfers with trauma patients.

Pikeville Medical Center recently completed a $150 million expansion that includes a ten-story parking garage, an 11-story clinic building for house physician offices and exam rooms, state-of-the-art operating rooms with new pre/post op care areas. We are now working toward expanding our intensive care services and adding 29 beds, bringing the total number of intensive care beds to 53. We are presently expanding the Heart Institute upgrading the existing cardiac cath labs, creation of an interventional radiology/vascular suite, and a new dining facility, all anticipated to be completed by this summer. The total cost of these plus other ongoing projects are expected to exceed $130 million.

PMCs accomplishments are attributed to its employees carrying out its mission statement every day, to provide quality regional health care in a Christian environment. As a true leader and innovator in the health care industry, PMC continues to raise the bar of excellence.
