Ochsner Health System is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon with added qualifications in Critical Care to join our expanding Acute Care Surgery Team at our main campus location in New Orleans.  The qualified individual will have at least five years of experience in managing acutely ill or injured patients in an academic environment or have completed/completing a Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgical Fellowship this academic year.

Acute Care Surgery joins Surgical Oncology, Soft Tissue/Breast/Endocrine, and Minimally Invasive/ Bariatric Surgery to make up an eleven member section of General Surgery within a 35 surgeon member Department of Surgery that includes sections of Plastics, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Pediatric Surgery, and Transplant. Ochsner has an independent ACGME approved surgical residency program that finishes six chiefs per year and also trains fellows in Colorectal, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Transplant. Ample teaching and clinical research opportunities are available for faculty members and are encouraged. Salary offered will be competitive and commensurate with experience and training.
