Our Bloomington/Normal neuroscience program is part of OSF Healthcare Illinois Neurological Institute (INI), with headquarters in Peoria, Illinois. The INI includes more than 40 neurologists, neurosurgeons and physiatrists and more than 30 advanced practice providers. Most faculty are fellowship trained. Subspecialties include movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular, cognitive disorders, neuro-ophthalmology, neurovestibular, neuro-rehabilitation, epilepsy, stroke, headache and sleep.
OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center (SJMC), a Level II trauma center and tertiary care facility, includes a medical staff of over 300 physicians, 149 licensed beds, all private rooms, and a 32-bed comprehensive care center using a universal bed model approach with patients.

ED call is supported by Patronus Teleneurology 24/7 as the primary resource. OSF SJMC utilizes Patronus to provide on-demand access to board certified, U.S. trained vascular and neurocritical care neurologists. This service supports our physicians day or night and delivers clinical recommendations for patients suffering stroke or any other neurological emergency. It is specifically designed to deliver high quality neurological care with ease and efficiency.

OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center is a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center. In 2016, OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center was awarded Gold Plus for Stroke for the fourth year in a row from the American Heart/American Stroke Association. Highly specialized interventional neuroradiologists work closely with our stroke team for acute intervention. Neurologists with an interest in stroke are a plus.
SJMC also was awarded the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades in 2014, the Blue Distinction for Spine Surgery in 2013, the Leapfrog A rating for Hospital Safety and has been designated a Magnet facility since 2008.
