Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 325+ provider group practice seeking a board certified or board eligible pediatrician (MD/DO) committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to care and who is willing to grow a pediatric practice as part of a dedicated pediatric program within a multispecialty medical group framework. The practice is located in the city of Caldwell, with a specific market area population base of 42,000. Caldwell is situated in Canyon County and is part of the Boise metropolitan area (a mid-sized metro area of approximately 640,000). You will join a well established clinic in Caldwell and will enjoy the support of a large health system and a well-organized multispecialty group practice.

This opportunity is perfect for a pediatrician seeking a smaller scale style of practice where you can really get to know your patients & families. Working collegially with your fellow providers and staff, you will lead a care team dedicated to the organization's faith-based ministry of healing body, mind and spirit while providing excellence in the patient care experience. The SAMGElm Clinic has 5.7 FTE Pediatric providers, 8.2 Family Practice providers, an Urgent Care as well as an Occupational Medicine clinic and includes a three exam room pod for each provider; a procedure room, lab and x-ray.

Responsibilities include management of the pediatric health services patient. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, the following exams, procedures and services: annual and routine well child check exams, acute illness, inpatient services and injury care, et al. Collaboration with obstetricians post-delivery and subsequent neonatal care is expected at a Level 2A nursery although the scope of care does not include the care of critically ill infants.

The provider will also ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility and request timely consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. The qualified candidate must be passionate about pediatric health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem solving abilities.

As a member of an Idaho-Oregon based healthcare system, the provider must obtain an unrestricted full medical license in Idaho and Oregon and hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho and Oregon Boards of Pharmacy and the DEA. The desirable candidate will also have prior pediatric practice healthcare experience in a clinic setting; this experience may be through an accredited pediatric general residency program. Moreover, Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) utilizes an electronic health record (EHR) in its clinics Therefore, experience with EHRs is desirable.
