HealthPoint is currently seeking an Assistant Medical Director for our School Based Health Centers

We have been practicing full-spectrum outpatient family medicine in the suburban areas of Seattle, WA for over 45 years. Our progressive, mission-driven organization is dedicated to primary health care including: medical, dental, naturopathic medicine, OB/GYN care and behavioral health. HealthPoint is a non-profit, consumer-governed, Community Health Center network serving the needs of the uninsured and medically underserved populations in nine medical clinics, six dental clinics, two school-based health centers, and two health centers based in behavioral health organizations that employ over 750 staff to deliver care to over 85,000 patients annually.

Our supportive programs include behavioral health, nutrition counseling, acupuncture, urgent care, peer support, and case management. We are community leaders in initiating and developing collaborative relationships.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the Clinical Leadership of School Based Health Center Special Program within HealthPoint. This position requires the provision of clinical services as an integral component of holding this leadership position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Physician-Essential Job Functions
This position requires Board Certification in a relevant specialty. Acceptable Board Certifications for this position include Pediatrics (MD or DO) or Family Medicine (MD or DO).


Assist HealthPoint Medical Director/CMO with School Based Health Center Medical Program development, implementation and evaluation.

Collaborate with the Manager of SBHC programs to enhance and strengthen relationships with community partners and stakeholders in the expansion and growth of SBHC clinic sites.

Collaborate with the Manager of SBHC to integrate lean management approaches in the SBHC work.

Provide site leadership for clinical practice and quality. Activities include: tracking quality measures for the sites, supporting site teams in setting practice management goals and keeping site teams informed and involved with current clinical protocols, best practices and innovation. Communicate productivity information to clinic providers.

Assist with clinical aspects of operations in partnership with the SBHC Manager. Activities include: site provider scheduling, problem solving systems issues, dealing with patient complaints, hiring, orientation and learning conversations for site clinical staff and other personnel activities such as training and team building.

Assist with strategic planning, developing department goals and equipment budgeting for the sites in partnership with the SBHC Manager.

Hire, orient, evaluate the work performance and mentor site provider staff as necessary, in coordination with Human Resources Director and Medical Director/CMO

Provide guidance and coaching to provider staff on a day-to-day basis. Provide individual counseling to provider staff as necessary for conflict resolution and to promote the development of new skills and behavioral change.

Effectively communicate HealthPoints mission and values to staff and clients. Assist Health Center Manager to evaluate the impact of changes and assist in conducting staff meetings to discuss methods and policy changes for improving customer service, productivity and access, teamwork issues, and for promoting efficient and safe operations. Help to create a work environment in which staff provides superior customer service to diverse clients, and staff teams are supported in resolving issues and conflicts as soon as possible.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provision of comprehensive primary care services in a primary medical care ambulatory clinic working independently and interdependently with other HealthPoint providers.
Provide consultation to other clinic providers either in person or by telephone.
Consult with clinic physicians, specialists, or other health care professionals as appropriate.
Assess patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service.
Participate in a shared call system with other providers.
Assist with meeting clinic patient care team productivity and quality care standards.
Participate in development and utilization of HealthPoint practice guidelines and procedures.
Participate in audits, and meet standards of HealthPoint Quality Improvement, Risk Management and Utilization Management programs.
Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records and superbills.
Participate in patient triage system.
Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with HealthPoint credentialing policy.
Maintenance of credentials essential for practice, to include licensure, certification, society memberships and CPE.
Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations.
Dispense medications from on site dispensary in accordance with HealthPoint and State of Washington Pharmacy Board policies.
Maintains good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment.
