Pikeville Medical Center is currently seeking a board certified/board eligible Gastroenterologist, for a full time hospital employed position. The physician shall perform all of the usual and customary clinical services of an Gastroenterologist, including diagnosis, examination, consultation, and treatment (including the performance of procedures) of in-patients and out-patients in a clinic/office and hospital setting as directed by PMC. We are offering a generous salary with bonus incentives, brand new offices and exam rooms in $150 million dollar clinic building that recently opened and full experienced support staff. PMC has state of the art equipment and OR's, we cover malpractice insurance and offer an excellent comprehensive benefits package. We currently have 2 Gastroenterologists on staff and are looking to add one additional.

Pikeville Medical Center recently received our Level II Trauma accreditation, making us the only Level II Trauma center in the state of KY. Last year the hospital received more than 100 air transfers and over 700 ambulance transfers with trauma patients.

Pikeville Medical Center recently completed a $150 million expansion that includes a ten-story parking garage, an 11-story clinic building for house physician offices and exam rooms, state-of-the-art operating rooms with new pre/post op care areas. We are now working toward expanding our intensive care services and adding 29 beds, bringing the total number of intensive care beds to 53. We are presently expanding the Heart Institute upgrading the existing cardiac cath labs, creation of an interventional radiology/vascular suite, and a new dining facility, all anticipated to be completed by this summer. The total cost of these plus other ongoing projects are expected to exceed $130 million.
