JOB SUMMARY:
Full-time faculty as Intensivist for a 30 bed state of the art Heart and Vascular Intensive Care Unit (HVICU). The HVICU Intensivist team provides medical management to patients with complex therapies and interventions for advanced cardiac and pulmonary failure including: Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), Total Artificial Heart (TAH), Cardiac Transplantation, complex cardiac and vascular surgery, and all subspecialties of cardiology practice. The HVICU Intensivists work in collaboration with a team of acute care nurse practitioners and anesthesiologists to provide around the clock care.

Appropriate candidates will have completed residency and appropriate additional sub-specialty training in any one of the following: Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pulmonology, Critical Care medicine, Cardiology, Heart Failure, Transplant/mechanical Circulatory Support. As faculty members employed by PSHMC, candidates will be involved in clinical, teaching, and research activities.

The Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular institute (PSHVI), as part of PSHMC, is a multispecialty collaborative that provides comprehensive heart and vascular care by a group of interdisciplinary leaders from all heart and vascular subspecialties. This union of specialties affords providers enhanced collaboration and optimizes patient care. We are a resource and quaternary center providing cutting edge treatments to patients with cardiovascular disease.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Medical degree - M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent
Completion of an accredited residency program(s) listed above
Licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania
Board certification/eligibility in Cardiology
