About San Mateo Medical Center

San Mateo Medical Center is part of the San Mateo County Health System and is located in San Mateo County, California, just south of San Francisco. We have clinics located around the County where we currently have full- and part-time opportunities to be part of a care team providing continuity care. Hours are flexible, but may include after hours or weekend shift options, either currently or in the near future. There are no inpatient or call responsibilities.

Current residents of an accredited Family Practice or Internal Medicine Residency Program may apply prior to graduating from the program. Board Certification or eligibility and enrollment as a provider of Medi-Cal/Medicare is preferred.

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is an integrated delivery system where we are mission centered and focused on constant quality improvement. At the San Mateo County Health System, Physicians provide high quality, comprehensive medical care and treatment to a diverse patient population. We have a patient-centered, team based model with an emphasis on prevention of disease, promotion of health, and management of chronic disease. We use data to help us focus and drive improvement. SMMC serves as a key provider within the Health Plan of San Mateos (HPSM) public/private network. Our integrated delivery system includes a fully accredited acute care hospital that includes ED, PES, OR, endoscopy, and short stay unit, 7 bed ICU, general medical/ surgical unit (62-bed capacity) acute inpatient psychiatry (34 beds), on-campus skilled nursing unit (32 beds); and 11 clinics located across the Countys diverse and dispersed population. Current residents of an accredited Family Practice or Internal Medicine Residency Program may apply prior to graduating from the program. Several San Mateo Medical Center clinics are accredited as National Health Services Corps (http://nhsc.hrsa.gov/) sites and benefit from scholarships and loan repayment programs through this network.
