There has never been a better time than now for psychiatrists to experience both personal and professional growth as a healthcare provider with The Permanente Medical Group, Inc.

Population growth combined with greater access to healthcare in the Central Valley cities of Fresno, Modesto and Stockton has created the need for additional psychiatrists and mental health services.

TPMG is in a three-way partnership with the not-for-profit Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Hospitals. The Group has over eight thousand Physician Shareholders are provides care to more than three million members throughout Northern California. Formed 65-years ago TPMG provides unparalleled stability, a highly competitive salary and an extraordinary benefits package including medical and dental coverage for your and your family, life, travel, workers compensation insurance, accrued vacation and holiday paid time off, retirement plans and the opportunity to become a shareholder in TPMG, Inc. We also offer a forgivable recruitment and geographic bonus up to $220,000.

At each of our medical centers the Mental Health teams consist of adult and child psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, chemical dependency counselors, and marriage counselors. The various teams meet weekly and monthly and work collaboratively together. The outpatient adult psychiatry positions are for 40-hour weeks and in some situations there are part-time and pool physician opportunities. Day-to-day, a new patient might be scheduled in the AM and PM for one-hour visits and return appoints are for 30-minutes. There is time during the day to update and use the EPIC EMR system. Psychiatrists rotate 2nd call responsibilities every few months for one week.

Affordable California is not an oxymoron. Physicians are choosing to live and work in the Central Valley because it is very affordable and at the same time offers a quality lifestyle. Home prices in the Central Valley are typically 50-60% less than what you might pay for a comparable home in the S.F. Bay area. And, all of our Central Valley locations are between a 1.5 to 3-hour drive to San Francisco or Los Angeles.

Instead of spending hours of road time stuck in a car commuting to an office you will have more time to spend with your family and friends. Our modern medical offices are well situated for easy access and there is easy parking and no traffic hassles. Each practice location offers choices and opportunities to attend community activities, theater, sporting events, museums, family and gourmet eateries, fashion malls, and schools and universities.

The Central Valley is nestled between the Cascade, Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi mountains to the east and the California coastal ranges and the San Francisco Bay Area to the West. The region is an outdoor recreational destination with mountain and road biking, kayaking and boarding on numerous lakes and rivers. The nearby California State and National Parks offer great hiking trails, camping, and fishing in pristine lakes and rivers. Regards,
