United Health Services Medical Group, a progressive 200+ physician multispecialty group, is seeking a Medical Director for the Hospitalist Program. This individual will be responsible for leading and managing the hospitalist physicians. The incoming provider is also responsible for overseeing the clinical quality of care provided by the hospitalist and serve as the physician liaison between the Medical Staff and the Administration.
This position reports to V.P. for Clinical Integration & Chief Medical Officer and President, UHS Medical Group.

- MD or DO degree with the completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine.
- 4 or more years of hospitalist experience; 2 years of leadership experience
- Current, unrestricted New York License
- Experience in medical administration and quality improvement initiatives

Recruiting and developing medical staff
Effectively interpret and utilize data to motivate physician practice behavior and achieve improvements in
clinical, quality and efficiency.
Work well with others in a matrix organization to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
Participates in the development of the practices annual budget, including making recommendations regarding
appropriate hospitalist staffing levels and compensation.
Performs regular monitoring of practice financial performance and makes recommendations to address
budget variances.
The group is affiliated with United Health Services Hospitals, the communitys regional leader in healthcare. Teaching opportunities are available with the residents and fellows, as well as the medical students on rotation from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. An academic appointment at Upstate Medical University, as well as the ability to participate in basic and clinical research.
