The well established Rheumatology group, Borgess Rheumatology, a part of Borgess Bone & Joint Institute, has an immediate opening for a Rheumatologist.

This is a great opportunity for a Rheumatologist to join an expanding practice that is part of a comprehensive center for musculoskeletal care. This practice is located in a beautiful community, both for practicing medicine and for raising a family. Kalamazoo is a charming town in southwest Michigan that offers a unique combination of natural beauty, arts and culture, with close proximity to Michigans well kept secret its parks & recreational areas.
A short drive takes you to the majestic beaches of Lake Michigan, which offers a superior living environment. FACILITY

Borgess Health is a comprehensive health system serving southwest and south central Michigan. Borgess Medical Center, the heart of the network, is a 424-bed teaching hospital, tertiary care facility, and Level 1 Trauma Center providing nationally recognized cardiac and neuro care with advanced capabilities in multiple specialties.

Borgess Medical Center jointly sponsors the Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies with residency programs that include family practice, internal medicine, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, and a combined med/peds program.

COMMUNITY

Located halfway between Detroit and Chicago, Kalamazoo is an important destination for business, education and cultural events. The maximum commute time anywhere in the city is 20 minutes without the bumper-to-bumper traffic of large metro areas. Outdoor activities are plentiful in Kalamazoo, no matter what time of year. Fish, swim, waterski, sail or boat in one of Kalamazoos 83 lakes or visit the sandy shores of Lake Michiganjust a 40-minute drive or three-hour bike ride away on the Kal-Haven Trail. Around every corner in Kalamazoo, there is a park or trail with areas for picnics, biking, hiking or horseback riding. The area is home to 24 scenic golf courses and offers a full schedule of amateur, collegiate and professional athletics. In late November, Kalamazoo becomes a winter wonderland. Local ski resorts offer beginner hills and challenging slopes for skiers and snowboards, while plenty of trails are available for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. There are six sheets of hockey-sized ice in Kalamazoo along with several skating ponds.
