General Neurology opportunities, both inpatient and outpatient, with the Norton Neuroscience Institute!

Norton Healthcare, a large, not-for-profit, multi-hospital system in Louisville, Ky., is seeking full-time general neurologists to work in both an inpatient and ouptaient setting. Norton Healthcare recently dedicated $100 million to the creation of the Norton NeuroscienceInstitute (NNI), with a five-year goal of becoming a regional, national and international leader in the treatment of and research in adult and pediatric neurological disorders, as well as the education of neuroscience clinicians and scientists.

Norton is currentlydeveloping integrated, multispecialty neurological services within Norton Neuroscience Institute. In its final form, the institute will be comprised of departments of neurosurgery, neurology, pediatric neurology and neurosurgery, neuropathology, neuroradiology, rehabilitation medicine and basic neuroscience. The institute currently employs 11 neurologists and 17 neurosurgeons with expertise in various neurosurgical specialties, including vascular, pediatric, neoplastic, functional, endovascular, epilepsy, neurosurgery, spine and other areas.
In addition to these subspecialists, Norton Healthcare has nearly 2,300 physicians on its medical staff and an extensive network of referring physicians. Additionally, Kosair Childrens Hospital, Kentuckys only full-service, free-standing pediatric hospital, is part of Norton Healthcare. The organization is widely recognized for its innovative approach to providing care and for its partnership with its physicians.

The physician is responsible for obtaining and legibly recording a detailed medical history of each patient, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.
