Rheumatologist
Spectrum Health Medical Group

Spectrum Health Medical Group is looking for a Rheumatologist

Currently, the division has 1.6 clinical FTEs of rheumatology specialists,
made up of one full-time and one part-time physician. The patient base
is mostly adult. The current practice also covers consults at our two
main hospitals in Grand Rapids-Butterworth and Blodgett. In addition,
the group employs several nurses and office support staff.
. There is a large referral base of nearly 40 primary care offices
throughout West Michigan. The situation exists today where a newly
recruited physician could be busy immediately.
. The rheumatology practice is located at the Blodgett Professional
Office Building on the campus of Blodgett Hospital in East Grand
Rapids. The newly remodeled clinic space has room to accommodate
three physicians. There is an on-site Infusion Center.

. For the right candidate, we would entertain the possibility of this person
filling the role of Division Chief of Rheumatology which would involve approximately
20% of thier time in leadership activiities.
In addition, there are opportunities to be involved in the Internal
Medicine residency program, and to conduct clinical research.
. Call would be shared with the two other physicians, but it is rare to
be called with emergencies. The physicians will do occasional
inpatient consults.
