Modesto is centrally located between the San Francisco Bay Area and the outdoor mountain playground of Lake Tahoe. Other vacation destinations, such as the Napa Valley, Monterey/Carmel, and several national parks including Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia, are within a half-day drive.
